Elected Positions
Vice-President: Ryan Venables
Ryan has been involved with working dogs and French Ring for over 15 years, and is the President and one of the founding members of SOAR Ringsport. Ryan is a French Ring judge, and training decoy. He is one of the few North American handlers who have competed in the French Selectifs (2022) with his dog Ionn. Together they also represented Canada multiple times and also won the CRA R3 Championship 2017 – 2021, Ionn is the only dog to have won the R3 Championship five (5) times. Ryan also previously competed with his first dog, Indi winning the R1 Championship in 2012. Ryan is currently actively competing in R3 with his dog Stromae. Ryan has also held positions on the Board of Directors in the past as President and Secretary.
Secretary: Evan Miller
Evan is a passionate French Ring competitor and a dedicated board member of the association. Over the years, he has worked with several Malinois and is currently training with the North Toronto K9 Ring Club alongside Stringer, his 4-year-old Belgian Malinois. Evan brings valuable expertise and experience to the organization, combining a strategic approach to training with unwavering support for fellow competitors. His involvement plays a key role in advancing the association’s goals and fostering a vibrant community dedicated to canine sports.
East Region Representative:
Mylène Boulanger
Mylène speaks both French and English and is dedicated to the Beauceron breed as well as French Ring, a sport she has fallen in love with. Passionate and committed, she leverages her administrative skills to support the growth and development of the sport. Her goal is to raise awareness of French Ring while inspiring others to discover this challenging and rewarding discipline. Always eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm, Mylène actively contributes to building a strong and united community around the sport.
West Region Representative: Dan Buenaventura
Dan Buenaventura has been active in dog sports since 2003, specializing in Mondio Ring and French Ring. Since 2019, he has served as a Level 1 Decoy in French Ring and a Level 2 Decoy for the Canadian Mondio Ring Organization. Currently training a Belgian Malinois for French Ring, Dan is dedicated to promoting and growing the sport in Canada by participating in trials as both a decoy and trainer. His mission is to elevate the sport and inspire others to engage in its development.
